Under the Rainbow also heard about a confidence building course called from the Lesbian and Gay Foundation, and paid tribute to the work of Body Positive North West who recently announced their closure.

May 2012 - Goodbye Body Positive North West

Body Positive North West has announced their closure, due to financial pressures.

For more than 25 years, the charity provided a range of services to people affected by HIV.

Over the years, Under the Rainbow has heard from a few of their staff about the services they provide. Tonight, they’re looking back on more than two decades of support.

Body Positive North West at LGBT History Month

February is LGBT History Month. Last week Blackshaws Cafe in Stockport marketplace played host to an event about HIV and AIDS, in the UK and abroad. The evening saw presentations from Body Positive North West and Age Concern.

At the end of the evening, Under the Rainbow caught up with Sam de Croy from Body Positive, and asked him about the current situation on HIV in the local LGBT community.
